Enrich Your Education

We believe the professional socialization process should begin during your first year of the BScN program. In the winter term you will do a placement providing basic nursing care to older persons in long term or chronic care settings. As your nursing skills improve each year, your clinical practice responsibilities will grow, culminating in several clinical placement courses in a range of nursing care  environments such as

  • Public health units
  • Correctional facilities
  • Acute care and other hospitals
  • Mental health settings
  • Long term care facilities

In your fourth year students may qualify to  complete placement(s) abroad. We have had students complete senior clinical courses in places such as Thailand, England, Finland, Africa, Sweden and New Zealand. This opportunity enhances your university experience and exposes you to health care practices around the world.
