Event Location:
Bora Laskin Faculty of Law Auditorium

The Honourable Kim Pate will be in Thunder Bay on Friday, March 31 to give a talk from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law's John N. Paterson Auditorium.

She was appointed to the Senate of Canada on November 10, 2016.

Senate Pate is a nationally renowned advocate who has spent the last 35 years working in and around the legal and penal systems of Canada, with and on behalf of some of the most marginalized, victimized, criminalized and institutionalized—particularly imprisoned youth, men and women.

She has been instrumental in building coalitions across the country with other equality-seeking women’s, anti-racism, anti-poverty and human rights groups and organizations; and, in this capacity, has worked with feminist legal scholars, lawyers, other professionals and front-line advocates and activists—from indigenous communities to transition house and rape crisis centre workers.

Everyone is invited to attend this talk.
