The following are the Learning Goals and Outcomes defined for the four programs offered by the Faculty of Business Administration at Lakehead University.

Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Learning Goal (graduates to “be” or “have”) Learning Objective (graduate to “do” or “make)
1) Graduates should be effective communicators. 1.1) Graduates will communicate orally in an effective manner.
1.2) Our graduates will prepare professional written reports.
2) Graduates should be critical thinkers when making business decisions. 2.1) Graduates will understand the foundational knowledge of all business areas.
2.2) Graduates will have specialized knowledge of their selected major.
2.3) Graduates will think critically when integrating knowledge of business concepts when solving real-life business problems.
3) Graduates should have the skills to become effective business leaders. 3.1) Graduates will apply ethical resolution techniques to ethical dilemmas.
3.2) Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of effective leadership practices.
3.3) Graduates will work effectively in teams.

2) Our graduates should be able to independently undertake original research within the domain of management disciplines. 2.1) Our graduates will formulate a research question, understand quantitative and qualitative methodologies, select the appropriate methodology for a given research question, comprehend limitations, and understand the implications of the analysis.
2.2) Our graduates will understand ethical considerations when conducting management research.
