In 2016, the Board of Governors launched an eighteen-month process to develop the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan. More than 1,000 individuals shared their input, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, business and community leaders, and members of the communities we serve. This feedback helped create a bold and ambitious Strategic Plan that positions the University to achieve its aspirational goals and realize its vision.
The themes in the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan are shaped by Lakehead’s long-standing commitments to academic excellence, access and achievement for a diverse student body, social justice, and to the communities we serve in Northwestern Ontario and Simcoe County
Each of these themes is critical to our mission and vision, and will act as a lens through which we measure our success as a regional university.
Academic Excellence - Lakehead University will stimulate a lifelong quest for knowledge through unique, high quality, transformational undergraduate and graduate teaching, learning and research experiences that encourage critical thinking and positions students for success beyond the University.
