|Workshop||October 20||Tuesday||7:00 pm|
|Fee:||$79 (plus hst)|
|Instructor(s):||Bob Bowles, Coordinator of the Ontario Master Naturalist Program|
This workshop builds on your learnings from the Early Mushroom Species Identification and Exploration workshop, focusing on the many species found later in the season specifically, but will also review elements from the first workshop concerning spore colour, gill attachment, and growth substrate. In this workshop, you will also learn more about how to forage for choice edible mushrooms and avoid poisonous mushroom species in Ontario. This class may be taken in conjunction with the first workshop for a fuller experiential knowledge base.
Workshop participants will receive interactive PowerPoint slides, videos, self tests, and other materials in advance to work through before attending a Tuesday evening webinar with program coordinator Bob Bowles, where he will work through and demonstrate key concepts. Participants are encouraged to go out into the field over the weekend and return to the Zoom "Trailhead" for a more informal Q&A with Bob and others on Sunday.
