The Executive Leadership Program, brought to you by Lakehead University and Georgian College, is designed to produce long-term results for you and your organization. If you want to further your leadership skills and develop evidence-based strategies that take your team to the next level, this program is for you!

The program builds on your real-world experience, analyzes your personal leadership style, and helps you improve your own impact and drive performance and culture within your organization.

The Executive Leadership Program is for:

  • directors, senior managers and business owners from a broad range of industries including corporate, government, manufacturing and health care
  • professionals with a minimum of five years management experience

Peter Ferreria has 20 plus years of education, sales and executive leadership experience spanning across diverse organizations including: Canadian & Global companies in IT, SaaS, Finance, and Learning and Development industries for brands such as Synnex, Dell/Dell Financial Services, Turning Technologies, AtmanCo., Halifax Sales & Executive Performance Consulting Distribution, Wholesale and Retail for Luxury brands such as Cavalinho and Marathon Watch Co. Peter is a corporate facilitator for Continuing Education and Corporate Training at Georgian College where he delivers customized industry-driven, quality training that supports sectors including: healthcare, manufacturing, business, education and corporate organizations.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Management and Leadership and a Business Management Diploma from Georgian College along with the following certificates: Effective Manager, American Management Association, Signature Selling, Welch & Pridmore and Leadership/Coaching and Teambuilding.

Dilesha Stelmach is a seasoned EDIA+ professional and Principal Consultant at Equity First HR, where she leads transformative corporate and social initiative. With a wealth of experience in talent management and organizational development, Dilesha is committed to fostering inclusive workplace cultures and driving positive change. As a multi-award-winning speaker, lectured and equity consultant, Dilesha continues to lead the way for corporate, institutional and societal change.

Dr. Sonia Mastrangelo, Facilitator in the Executive Leadership Program at Georgian College

Dr. Mastrangelo is the Assistant Dean in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University.  She is also the Director of Research for the newly formed Applied Self-Regulation Knowledge Research Network (https://self-reg.ca/applied-self-reg-knowledge-research-network) and chief editor of the Journal of Applied Self-Regulation ( jasr.lakeheadu.ca). 

She teaches primarily in the areas of educational psychology, special/inclusive education, mental health and self-regulation. She is a facilitator in Shanker Self-Reg™ and she now shares her passion for self-regulation both at the pre-service level at the Faculty of Education and with practicing teachers throughout Ontario and abroad.

Dr. Mastrangelo is the recipient of several Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Connection Grants on self-regulation. Dr. Mastrangelo has published widely in the area of play, autism spectrum disorder, self-regulation, and family quality of life. She served as a member on the board of directors for a sustainable housing development project for young adults with autism spectrum disorder with Habitat for Humanity. She is also editor of the International Journal of Holistic Early Learning and Development.

The Director of Social Innovation, a department under Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and one of three AshokaU Changemaker Campus Leads, she leads a talented team of changemakers at Georgian College.  Considered a “pracademic” (academic + practitioner) Nicole, brings almost 18 years of corporate industrial design experience in the mobile technology, consumer electronics and motorsports sectors advocating for human centred approaches to within innovation to her work at Georgian. She attended OCAD University both for undergraduate and graduate design degrees, earning a Masters in Strategic Foresight and Innovation. Her Masters’ work explored the accessibility of strategic business modelling tools and their ability to support organizations in evolving their organizations to flourish through compelling social and environmental impacts. 

She is currently completing her PhD in Informatics in Sweden, exploring how participatory community-led approaches can create more inclusive organizations and future-ready communities.  As the Director of Social Innovation, she fosters participatory design-led innovation processes via Living Labs to engage diverse community partners, students, staff and faculty and build their capacity to collectively tackle complex issues that affect the prosperity of our communities, organizations and economies. Nicole thrives on complexity and believes if we are to make the vision laid out in the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and it’s 17 Sustainable Goals (SDGs) we need to design together new systems the move beyond harm and instead heal.

Dr. Linda Rodenburg is the Interim Principal and Director of Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning, as well asa professor in the English Department, at Lakehead University. She moved to Orillia in 2006 as a member of the founding faculty of Lakehead University’s Orillia campus, and her love of lifelong learning and commitment to community found new roots in Simcoe County.

After completing degrees at Lakehead in Thunder Bay, Linda completed her MA at the University of Guelph before undertaking her Ph.D. at the University of Otago in New Zealand on a Commonwealth Scholarship. Her research unpacks how indigenous literatures teach us that relationships and storytelling ground identities, and ‘place’ can enable emergent understandings of culture. As an educator, leader, and community builder, Linda strives to enable others to feel empowered in their connection to place, and to feel motivated to enact positive change in their communities.

Dave Shorey grew up in Southampton, left for school, and stayed in the Waterloo Region for work until returning home in 2020. Dave, his wife Constance (social worker with the Bluewater Board), and his daughter Annette live in Port Elgin and consider themselves lucky to live close to family and friends.

Dave currently serves Georgian College as Executive Director of the Owen Sound Campus. Dave cultivates, develops, and nurtures positive relationships with community, government, and industry partners. Dave also ensures continued quality programs and exceptional service delivery and oversees campus administration, organizational planning, and operations. Dave is also a faculty member at Wilfrid Laurier University and teaches in the Master of Education program.

Previously, he served the Municipal Innovation Council (MIC) in Bruce County as the Innovation Officer, where he built an innovation ecosystem for 1500+ municipal employees and fostered collaborative problem-solving amongst all eight member municipalities. Dave was also Associate Director of Residence Education at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he championed collaboration across the institution and the co-creation of innovative transition and success programs.

Dave is near the completion of his Doctor of Education at Western University. He is a member of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Centre for Leading Research in Education (CLRiE), focusing on lifespan, living, and learning.
