Dr. Katzman will discuss the neurobiology of the prefrontal cortex in relation to depression and ADHD, the processes that lead to unremitted or treatment resistant depression (TRD), and subsequent compromised quality of life and functional impairment.
Dr. Katzman will review how cognitive impairment and low hedonic tone act as predictors of TRD and suggest the presence of ADHD that drives the development of TRD as a comorbid of source residual symptoms of depression and anxiety. This will then be understood in relation to the psychobiology of depression and ADHD.
