The Indigenous Food Circle is hosting a full day gathering on Oct. 29 at Ka-Na-Chi-Hih in Thunder Bay. The event will bring people together to: Share knowledge on the current regulations surrounding wild game access; Discuss barriers, opportunities for organizations to collaborate around the cultural importance of wild game in community and institutional settings; and, Determine actions and next steps.
 
We will be joined by Kathy Loon from the Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout as our guest speaker to share the initial creation of the Miichim Program and their partnerships, benefits and challenges it has provided. As well, Hayley LaPalme from Nourish to discuss food in a health care setting, and celebrity chef Rich Francis who is the owner and operator of Seventh Fire Hospitality Group. Sustain Ontario will be webcasting this event to anyone interested across the province and country.
