Every Monday and Wednesday from 6 â€" 9 pm, all beaders are invited to the Aboriginal Student Lounge (SC 0004) to participate in a commemorative art installation for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of Canada, put together by Christi Belcourt. More than 600 moccasin tops are being created by hundreds of people to create one large piece that will be installed for the public in various galleries and sites.

The Education Open House is designed to provide prospective Education students with the latest updates relating to the teaching profession and connect them with the faculty and staff who will play a key role throughout their program.

Those who have applied or are still considering their options are welcome to attend. Visitors will have the chance to meet the Dean of Education at a welcome session, take part in interactive sessions that speak to the impact teachers make, learn about the transferable skills that will open doors to careers in addition to teaching, get introduced to our Education programs & Lakehead's reputation as a leader in Education, have the chance to speak to current Education students, tour the Bora Laskin Education building, get questions about admission requirements answered.

Prospective students and their families are invited to visit Lakehead University and get a taste of student life during March Break.

Visitors may take personalized guided tours of our campuses, tour and meet personnel in our residence facilities, be a student for a day by joining in a number of in-session lectures, meet with student success advisors and other student services representatives, connect with current students and faculty members from all of our programs and take a city bus tour.

Workshop 3 Educators Accessibility Resources Training Workshops Student Accessibility Services would like to invite interested educators and staff to upcoming Accessibility Workshops.

Workshops will provide participants with essential training and links. The workshops are an expansion of available online resources and will highlight how to utilize and apply the resources as we work towards expanding our campus accessibility and achieving the objectives of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

March 8, 2013, 1 pm - Creating Accessible Power Point Presentations This workshop will cover accessibility features within Power Point. Interested educators and staff will explore the benefits and features of the Accessibility Checker during the creation of Power Point Presentation. These workshops will be held at the Orillia Campus, Room OA 1033.

Thunder Bay Campus staff and educators are welcome to join by videoconference in Room AT5035 at the times listed above. All Attendees are asked to register in advance through atech-sas@lakeheadu.ca, indicating the location, date and topic that you wish to register for.
