Language & Styleguide: French and Syllabics
When technically possible, use accents on French proper names, including place names:
Example: Jean Chrétien, L’Actualité, Trois Rivières
Follow Oxford for English words:
Examples: cliché, résumé, café
Syllabics (translating Lakehead University into Oji-Cree) are part of Lakehead University’s Visual Identity Program.
The electronic files of the syllabics can be acquired through the Graphics and Photography Department. Guidelines on the use of syllabics pertaining to campus buildings can be found in the University’s Signage policy.
