safeTALK is a 4-hour, in-person workshop to build skills in suicide prevention. Participants will learn how to recognize and engage with someone thinking about suicide, overcome attitudes that act as barriers to help, talk openly about suicide and connect with intervention resources for further support.
Through presentations, audiovisuals, small group discussion and scenario practice, you will learn a 4-step TALK model and practical steps to help activate a suicide alert that connects people having thoughts of suicide with more specialized intervention care and relevant resources.
All participants will receive a learning booklet, resources and a Certificate of Completion.
Registration is required, space is limited.
Take10 with Student Health and Wellness to reflect on and implement small actions you can take to prioritize your wellness as we’re heading into a very busy time of year.
Student Health and Wellness will be in the Library at Heritage Place from 1:30 - 3:30 pm to help you prioritize your wellness with giveaways, wellness tips, and answers to your Student Health and Wellness questions!

Student Health and Wellness will be joining the Student Success Centre in celebrating Halloween on October 31st in Simcoe Hall & Heritage Place! Be sure to wear your best costume and participate in a series of engaging and fun activities with lots of candy and prizes to be won!
Drop by Simcoe Hall between 11am - 2pm, or Heritage Place between 1-3pm, for Halloween themed activities, games, trick-or-treat scavenger hunt and more!
There will also be free treats and hot apple cider!

The Responsible Gambling Council is presenting its new program the Randomizer for young adults with an interactive kiosk, specially staffed display and fantastic giveaways including three scholarship awards. Cold and flu season is upon us! One of the best ways to prevent getting sick is getting your annual flu shot. Student Health and Wellness is hosting a Flu Shot Clinic for students, faculty, and staff.

A health card is not required to get a flu shot, but it you have a health card, please bring it.
